Frequently Asked Questions

We look forward to speaking with you soon to answer any and all of your questions, but in the meantime, here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our medical aesthetic procedures.

What is DioLaze XL?

DiolazeXL is an advanced laser hair removal procedure that safely and gently eliminates unwanted hair. DiolazeXL has one of the largest treatment spot sizes, making treatments convenient and fast. The combination of efficacy, patient comfort and speed makes DiolazeXL a leader in laser hair removal. It is powerful enough to target and treat even the most stubborn hair.

How does DioLaze XL work?

During laser treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles.  The penetrating energy then heats up the root of the hair, which in turn prevents future hair growth.

Does DioLazeXL hurt?

DiolazeXL has a built-in skin cooling surface which is one of the largest for all hair removal devices. This makes treatment more comfortable than other devices, with most patients noting that DiolazeXL is virtually painless.

Why do I need multiple hair treatments to achieve hair removal?

As with all laser hair removal methods, DiolazeXL requires a series of treatments. Laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are in their mature stage; however, at any given time your hair is in various stages of growth.

How many DioLazeXL sessions are needed?

Hair is reduced with each treatment and results are observed after four to six sessions. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone.

Which areas of the body can be treated with DioLazeXL?

DiolazeXL can be safely used on most areas of the body that have unwanted hair. Most commonly treated areas include: bikini, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin and sideburns.

What is Forma?

Forma uses fractionated radio-frequency energy to stimulate collagen production for body remodeling. After treatment, you can achieve a more youthful and  toned skin contour making your body appear smoother, sexier and younger.

Is Forma for me?

FORMA is recommended for individuals who are looking for a non-invasive skin treatment to address targeted areas that require contraction. Forma can be used to reduce texture irregularities in lax skin to provide a lifted appearance. Plus is safe and can be used on all skin types and tones.

What results will I see and feel?

During treatment, most patients will feel a heat sensation and “feel” tighter. Over time patients typically notice a reduction in the folds of their skin leading to a smoother contour of the body. Textural irregularities will even out and sagging skin will appear more toned.

Will my Forma procedure hurt?

FORMA is essentially painless and has no downtime; it feels like a hot stone massage. Patients may see slight redness in the treated area, which will lessen within a few hours. All patients are able to return to their daily activities immediately after treatment.

How many Forma sessions are required?

Typically, weekly sessions are recommended over a six to eight-week period. Individuals with mild skin laxity may be treated in fewer sessions with more weeks between each treatment. Scheduling should be based on a pre-evaluation. Best results will be noticed over time or after a series of treatments.

What is Lumecca?

Lumecca is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions.  After just one use, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis, which provides  a photo facial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment.

What are the benefits of Lumecca?

In just 1-3 sessions Lumecca improves the appearance of:

  • Age spots (red/brown pigmentations)
  • Vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasias (spider veins) and poikiloderma
  • Rosacea (redness)
  • Freckles
  • Sun damage
What areas can be treated with Lumecca?

Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. This often includes the face, neck, décolletage, legs, hands and arms.

What steps must be taken before my Lumecca procedure?

Avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning one month prior to treatment.

What should I expect during and after Lumecca?

During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the Lumecca that feels like a light elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards, the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone. After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

How many Lumecca sessions are required?

An improved skin appearance can be noted after the first session. Multiple sessions provide even better results.  Treatment regime depends on the severity of skin damage, skin type, type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage) and energy settings.

How quickly will I see results after Lumecca?

Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days after the first session.  The skin will continue to look younger and more brilliant over time with most visible results after 1-2 weeks. Having multiple photo facial sessions will improve the final result. For vascular treatments such as facial telangiectasias, results can be seen in up to 2 weeks.

Does Lumecca have any side effects?

Most patients do not experience any side effects and any skin reaction usually resolves within a few hours.  Patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment.  It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight and tanning.

What is Morpheus8?

MORPHEUS8 is a fractional skin treatment that stimulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, the building blocks will reorganize themselves in a natural anti-aging process.  MORPHEUS8 is very unique as it can penetrate 4mm deep, which results in fat melting so you can truly contour and morph different parts of the body.

What areas can be treated with Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 can be used on any areas that can benefit from sub-dermal renewal. The most commonly treated areas include the lower face and neck. Areas of the face and body that exhibit wrinkles, discoloration or acne scarring are suitable for treatment.

How many Morpheus8 treatments will I need?

Depending on your Morpheus8 treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-3 sessions. It also depends how aggressive your treatment is and the severity of laxity and skin quality.

How quickly will I see results after Morpheus8?

Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.

How long should I wait between Morpheus8 treatments?

4 weeks

What is the benefit of fractionated energy?

Fractionated RF energy is a scientifically proven method to reduce wrinkles and rebuild collagen and fat. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro pins to renew deeper layers of the skin with almost no patient downtime.

Can anyone use Morpheus8?

The benefit of Morpheus8’s color blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker tones to be treated.

What is the benefit of RF Energy?

RF energy heats the deep layers of the skin in a controlled way to revitalize the collagen. The treatment will improve skin complexion and texture for a more radiant and youthful appearance.

Can Morpheus8 be used in combination with other treatments?

Yes, Morpheus8 can be used in the same treatment session, or a few days after other treatments.

When can I put make-up on after my Morpheus8 treatment?

Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.

What kind of post procedure care is required with Morpheus8?

Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process.

What is Vasculaze?

The appearance of veins can be unsightly, causing both women and men to seek treatment options. Lesions can be very visible (long and bulging) or spider veins, which are smaller, finer and shorter (lines or web-like). Vasculaze can help alleviate a wide variety of facial and leg vein issues with a laser that is targeted to treat the blood vessel causing the blemish. Vasculaze has a specially designed head that is built to pinpoint the vein or vein network, making treatments precise and safe.

The technology in the Vasculaze sends pulses of light onto the vein, which makes the vein slowly fade and disappear, preventing the need for unpleasant incisions and needles.

How common are vascular lesions?

Vascular lesions are present in 10-15% of adults, with a greater number in females than males.  They can be prevalent in a contained body area, spread out over multiple body areas, or show up as a singular line or cluster. The use of Vasculaze can help treat existing lesions and prevent them from getting worse.

What types of veins can be treated with Vasculaze?

Your aesthetic provider will need to do an assessment of your vascular lesions. In general, the recommended types of vascular veins to treat are: facial and spider veins, port wine stains, leg veins, telangiectasias and angiomas. Varicose veins are typically larger and are not suitable for Vasculaze.

What areas can be treated with Vasculaze?

More common areas of Vasculaze treatment include: face, décolleté, arms, upper thighs, back of thighs, and the lower legs.

How many Vasculaze sessions are required?

Typically, three sessions are performed, however, some lesions may require more. Gradual improvements in the treatment area can be seen following the first treatment – with the skin’s surface looking clearer as treatments progress.

What is the recovery from Vasculaze?

Fortunately, Vasculaze treatments don’t mean a hospital stay or a long, uncomfortable recovery. Vasculaze is a quick procedure, taking only a few seconds per vein treated. Patients can come into the office and leave within minutes, depending on how extensive the vein or vein network is.  Please speak to your aesthetic provider about activities that will encourage increased blood flow, like heavy exercise, as they may request you wait a few days to a week depending on the area you had treated. Areas treated should stay out of sunlight and be protected with sunblock with SPF.
